Tim Ball

General Physician

Dr Tim Ball is a Geriatrician and General Medicine Physician accredited at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital. Born and raised in Toowoomba, his path to medicine began following military service. He completed a Bachelor of Human Biology in Perth, earning DUX and a University Dean Medal, then graduated with an MBBS in 2016 from the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle, receiving the Palliative Care award. He completed his internship and residency in Western Australia, where he was named Hospital Junior Doctor of the Year at Saint John of God Subiaco Hospital.

Dr Ball undertook specialist training at tertiary hospitals across Western Australia, including Royal Perth, Sir Charles Gairdner, Joondalup Health Campus, and Albany Regional. He is a dual-trained Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General Medicine and Gerontology.

He manages a wide spectrum of inpatient and outpatient conditions. His special interests include diagnostic dilemmas, acute and chronic disease management (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, heart failure, renal medicine), comprehensive geriatric assessment, memory and dementia assessments, Parkinson’s disease management, perioperative medicine, complex medication reviews, falls prevention, and osteoporosis.

Dr Ball has returned to Toowoomba to establish private practice and is now accepting inpatient and outpatient referrals. He consults at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital within the Queensland Specialist Physicians group.
