Scott Mansfield
General Surgeon
Dr Scott Mansfield is a General and Colorectal Surgeon with strong ties to the Darling Downs region, having grown up in Injune and attended school in Toowoomba. Originally trained as a physiotherapist in rural Queensland, he pursued his long-held dream of studying medicine and graduated with first-class honours from the University of Queensland in 2006. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014 and has completed a two-year Colorectal Fellowship in Adelaide and Sydney, with a focus on minimally invasive surgery.
Dr Mansfield has contributed to medical research, with publications in the Asian Journal of Surgery and a notable presentation at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons’ Annual Scientific Conference in 2015, discussing the use of methylated tumour DNA in colorectal cancer screening. He maintains a strong interest in colorectal cancer genetics.
Dr Mansfield recently joined St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital and has returned to the region with his wife and four children.
