Prof Ramesh K Tripathi

Vascular Surgeon

Professor Ramesh Tripathi is a senior Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon. He completed his General Surgical Training and obtained FRCS from Edinburgh, UK. In Australia, he trained in Vascular Surgery at Royal Perth Hospital, Perth that culminated in FRACS in Vascular Surgery in 2005. He brings 27 years of internationally recognized and awarded vascular expertise in the treatments of Aortic Aneurysms, Carotid Artery Disease, Peripheral Arterial Occlusive Disease and Venous Disorders especially leg swelling and chronic leg ulcers. He is a Professor of Surgery at University of Queensland and at University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. His work has been internationally recognized by many awards including Distinguished Fellow of Society for Vascular Surgery (USA), Honorary Member of European Venous Forum, Asterios Katsamouris Lecture by the European Society for Cardiovascular Surgery. He was inducted into Sigma Xi Honors Research Society in 2017. Dr Tripathi’s academic recognition includes distinguished visiting Professorships to Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, USA and Mayo Clinic and Mayo School of Medicine, Rochester, USA and Karolinska University Hospitals, Stockholm, Sweden. Prof. Tripathi is a “surgeon scientist” by training and focuses most of his clinical research in treatments for arterial and venous ulceration of lower extremities, thrombotic lesions of thoracic and abdominal aorta and aortic aneurysms as well as carotid artery disease for stroke prevention. Dr Tripathi has an active research focus with publications, presentations and editorships including Journal of Endovascular Therapy, Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, Vascular, Phlebology, International Angiology, Aorta, Annals of Vascular Surgery, Asian Journal of Surgery and Endovascular Today.
