Olivia O’Dempsey

Olivia O’Dempsey is a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with a strong focus on palliative care and symptom management. She provides compassionate, patient-centred care through both inpatient and outpatient consultations, supporting patients and their families through complex and life-limiting illnesses. Olivia consults with patients admitted to St Andrew’s as well as in outpatient settings. Olivia brings extensive clinical experience to her role, including her longstanding work with Toowoomba Hospice, where she holds admission rights. Through this role she has developed significant expertise in caring for patients with both cancer and non-cancer conditions, with a focus on improving quality of life, symptom control, and supportive care. Her practice is supported by Medicare rebates for eligible consultations, allowing patients to access specialist palliative care services in a timely and accessible way. Olivia also works closely with the palliative care team at Toowoomba Base Hospital, ensuring a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care. In addition to her clinical work, Olivia serves as the Director of Nursing at Brodribb Home. Through this leadership role she has developed strong connections across the local healthcare and community support network, enabling her to effectively link patients and families with the services and resources they need. Olivia is committed to delivering compassionate, holistic care that supports patients, families and carers during challenging times.
