Dr William Mullally
Oncologist
Dr William Mullally is a Consultant Medical Oncologist practising at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital. He is trained in both Ireland and Australia and provides comprehensive medical oncology care across a wide range of solid tumour types, with a particular interest in thoracic oncology and targeted cancer therapies. Dr Mullally completed his medical degree with honours at University College Cork in Ireland before undertaking specialist training in Medical Oncology at several major Irish teaching hospitals, including Cork University Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, St James’s Hospital Dublin and Galway University Hospital. He was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and later became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Medical Oncology. Following his training, Dr Mullally worked at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane where he was involved in early-phase clinical trials, translational cancer research and precision oncology initiatives in partnership with the Translational Research Institute. He has experience participating in molecular tumour boards and applying genomic testing and biomarker-driven approaches to guide personalised cancer treatment. Dr Mullally has contributed to national and international oncology research collaborations and has authored peer-reviewed publications in areas including lung cancer, immunotherapy and targeted therapies. He has also presented research at major international oncology conferences. His clinical interests include thoracic cancers and targeted therapies, as well as gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hepatobiliary-pancreatic, head and neck, and skin cancers. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, multidisciplinary and personalised cancer care.
