Dr Tavis Read

Dr Tavis ‘Tav’ Read is an Australian-trained Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with expertise in surgical oncology and microsurgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, with particular interests in the management of melanoma, sarcoma, skin cancers, and other soft-tissue malignancies. Dr Read completed his surgical training across leading hospitals in Queensland and Victoria, including the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and Austin Health. He subsequently undertook a clinical fellowship in surgical oncology and microsurgery at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, as well as research fellowships in surgical oncology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He is a consultant surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where his practice focuses on the treatment of advanced skin malignancies and complex reconstructive surgery. Having grown up in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Dr Read is committed to delivering high-quality specialist care to patients in regional areas. He holds a PhD from the University of Queensland in the clinical management of advanced melanoma, and his work is centred on restoring form and function through highly specialised, patient-centred care.
