Dr Scott Mansfield

Dr Scott Mansfield is a specialist General and Colorectal Surgeon based in Toowoomba, providing expert surgical care for a wide range of general surgical and colorectal conditions. Dr Mansfield has a longstanding connection with the Darling Downs, having grown up in Injune and attended school in Toowoomba. Whilst working as a Physiotherapist in rural Queensland, Dr Mansfield decided to pursue his long-held dream of studying medicine. Dr Mansfield has extensive training in general surgery and colorectal procedures and brings many years of clinical experience to his practice. His expertise covers both elective and emergency surgical conditions, and he prioritises clear communication and shared decision-making with patients and their families. Together with other surgeons, he helps ensure local access to high-quality surgical services without the need for patients to travel to metropolitan centres. Dr Mansfield completed his MBBS at Queensland University, graduating with first class honours in 2006. He then became a Fellow of The Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2014 and has now completed a two-year Colorectal Fellowship in Adelaide and Sydney with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgery. His medical research in gastric perforation has been published in the Asian Journal of Surgery. He presented a podium presentation at the Annual Scientific Conference of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons on methylated tumour DNA as screening and surveillance for colorectal cancer in Perth in 2015. Dr Mansfield has an ongoing research interest in colorectal cancer genetics. Dr Mansfield consults and operates at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital.
