Dr Poch Malte
Physician (Rehabilitation)
Dr Poch Malte is a Fellowship-trained Rehabilitation Medicine Physician who specialises in restoring function and improving quality of life for patients with neurological, spinal, musculoskeletal and complex rehabilitation needs. He brings multidisciplinary expertise to his practice, integrating medical knowledge with rehabilitation principles to support recovery across acute, subacute and chronic phases of care. He provides general rehabilitation services in inpatient and outpatient settings including spasticity management utilising Botulinum toxin injections or refill of Intrathecal Baclofen Pumps. Dr Malte completed his initial training in physiotherapy before pursuing medical studies and specialist training in Rehabilitation Medicine. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine and has held leadership roles including Deputy Director of the Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service. His work is underpinned by a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, functional goals and collaboration with allied health, nursing and medical teams. Dr Malte also contributes to training and supervision of rehabilitation medicine trainees and medical students. Dr Malte consults and provides rehabilitation medical services at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital. Patients can access coordinated inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care, with a focus on personalised goals, collaborative care planning and maximising functional outcomes.
