Dr Nisal Gange
Geriatrician
Dr Nisal Gange is a specialist Geriatrician and Stroke Physician providing care across a broad spectrum of Geriatric syndromes and Stroke Medicine. He undertook specialist training in geriatric medicine, general medicine, and stroke care in the United Kingdom through the Oxford Deanery and subsequently worked as a Consultant Physician within the National Health Service. In 2004, he achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in General and Geriatric Medicine. He later completed a Master of Science in Ageing, Health and Disease at Cardiff University in 2011. After relocating to Toowoomba with his family in 2012, Dr Gange was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Adult Geriatric Medicine in 2013. Dr Gange is dedicated to delivering person-centred, evidence-based medical care to older adults in Toowoomba and the surrounding region. His approach focuses on optimising health, function, and quality of life for individuals with complex geriatric, stroke, and rehabilitation needs. He provides clinical leadership for the inpatient rehabilitation service at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital and, in addition to his private practice, currently serves as Director of Geriatrics, Adult Rehabilitation and Stroke Services (GARSS) at Toowoomba Hospital. His clinical interests include the assessment and management of stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA), Parkinson’s disease, cognitive disorders including dementia, and medication optimisation in older adults. Outside of clinical practice, Dr Gange enjoys travelling and has a keen interest in cricket.
