Dr Natacha Sorour

Oncologist

Dr Natacha Sorour is a specialist Medical Oncologist providing comprehensive care for patients diagnosed with cancer across the Darling Downs region. Dr Sorour manages a wide range of solid organ malignancies and is committed to evidence-based treatment supported by the latest clinical guidelines. Her practice includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies and supportive care planning. She works with a large multi-disciplinary team involving Surgeons, Radiation Oncologists, Pathologists, Radiologists, Nursing and Allied Health. Dr Sorour undertook her undergraduate medical training at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. She subsequently specialised in Internal Medicine, achieving Fellowship of the College of Medicine of South Africa in 1996. Dr Sorour emigrated to Australia, where she successfully completed the Australasian College of Physician exams, being awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in 1998. Thereafter, Dr Sorour worked as a Consultant Physician at Toowoomba Hospital in Queensland and during that time developed a strong interest in Oncology and subsequently undertook further training in the specialty of Oncology under the auspices of the RACP, achieving her Medical Oncology Fellowship in 2009. As Director of Medical Oncology at Toowoomba Hospital from 2010 until 2015, Dr Sorour helped lead and expand the cancer care services in public by developing the Toowoomba Regional Cancer Centre at Toowoomba Hospital, before commencing in private practice in 2013. She has mentored and taught medical students and staff throughout her career and holds the academic title of Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland Rural Medical School. Dr Sorour independently works full time in private practice at Toowoomba Oncology.
