Dr Melissa Hancock

Clinical Haematologist

Dr Melissa Hancock is a specialist Clinical Haematologist based in Toowoomba, providing expert care in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of blood and bone marrow disorders. She completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2010 and went on to undertake specialist haematology training at major Queensland hospitals including Gold Coast University Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital as part of her advanced physician and haematology education. Dr Hancock is experienced in caring for both malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions, supporting patients through complex diagnostic workflows and long-term treatment planning. She has particular clinical interests in conditions such as myeloproliferative neoplasms, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and thrombotic disorders, and is skilled in tailoring evidence-based treatment strategies to individual patient needs. Her training has included providing care for regional patients during rotations in Ipswich, Esk and Bundaberg hospitals, enhancing her understanding of rural and regional health needs. Dr Hancock works closely with referring clinicians, allied health professionals and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care for patients with blood disorders.
