Dr Jeremy Fernando

Dr Jeremy Fernando is a specialist Anaesthetist, Intensive Care Physician and Perioperative Medicine Specialist consulting in Toowoomba. Originally trained in New Zealand, he relocated to Australia in 2012 and has practised extensively in both anaesthesia and critical care settings. He combines clinical skills with a patient-centred approach to support safe surgical outcomes, particularly for complex and high-risk patients. He is the Director of the Intensive Care Unit at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba and is the Co-Director of MyProcedure,.a perioperative medicine company where his work spans high-risk preoperative assessment, collaborative care planning and postoperative recovery support. Dr Fernando has also actively contributed to the development of perioperative medicine as a clinical and policy discipline within the Australian medical community. In addition to his clinical roles, he contributes to medical education as a lecturer for the University of Queensland Rural Clinical School, supporting the training of future health professionals.
