Dr Harish Aikot

Dr Harish Aikot is a Fellowship-trained Interventional Cardiologist practicing in Toowoomba, specialising in advanced diagnosis and catheter-based treatment of cardiovascular disease. He completed his medical degree and subsequent specialist training in internal medicine and cardiology before gaining further expertise in interventional procedures. After completing advanced training in Cardiology in 2005, Dr Aikot continued his training with a two and half year Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne finishing in 2010. Dr Aikot then worked as a Consultant Cardiologist in the public and private health care sectors including St John of God Private Hospital in Bendigo, St Vincent’s and Mercy Private Hospital in Melbourne and most recently at the Townsville Hospital in Queensland. Dr Aikot manages a broad range of cardiovascular conditions and is experienced in both acute and chronic cardiac presentations. He is known for his patient-centred approach and works collaboratively with general practitioners, surgeons and multidisciplinary health teams to ensure coordinated treatment planning and long-term cardiovascular health support. His practice combines outpatient cardiology consultation with coordinated hospital-based interventional care, supporting local patients across the Darling Downs region without the need for travel to major metropolitan centres. Dr Aikot plays an integral role in the on-call Cardiologist’s roster for St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital. Dr Aikot consults and performs procedures at St Andrew’s Tooowoomba Hospital.
