Dr Gilda Kert

Ophthalmologist (Eye Specialist and Surgeon)

Dr Gilda Kert is a Specialist Ophthalmologist with medical and surgical training in eye diseases and eye surgery, including complex cataract and retinal conditions. Dr Kert graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1994 before completing formal ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital and a fellowship at Western Sydney Eye Hospital, Westmead with additional subspecialty experience in Cataract surgery, Oculoplastics and Medical Retina. Dr Kert consults from St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital. She established her private practice, Darling Downs Eye, after relocating to Toowoomba in 2008 and is known locally for her expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions affecting adult and older patients. Dr Kert provides both medical and surgical eye care, working with general practitioners and optometrists to deliver comprehensive vision services. She is an advocate for improved local ophthalmology services and has been publicly involved in highlighting the need for expanded eye care facilities in the region. Dr Kert’s clinic provides tailored eye assessments, surgical consultations and ongoing management for a broad spectrum of ophthalmic conditions, helping patients maintain and improve visual health.
