Dr Dolapo Sotade

Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr Dolapo Sotade is a Fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a comprehensive practice in hip and knee joint replacement (including robotic-assisted surgery), foot and ankle reconstruction, and orthopaedic trauma. He is originally from the Lockyer Valley and was educated in Toowoomba. Dr Sotade earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Master of Traumatology at the University of Newcastle, New South Wales. He went on to complete Orthopaedic Surgery training in the NSW Training Program, where he was awarded Fellowship. During his time in the Hunter New England Health District, he was honoured with the Doctor of the Year Award, reflecting his clinical acumen and leadership.
He has completed two sub-specialty fellowships:
· Hip & Knee Robotic Arthroplasty – The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane (MAKO platform), under Prof. Ross Crawford
· Foot & Ankle Surgery – The Mater Hospital, South Brisbane, under Dr Ben Forster and Dr Michael Lutz
Dr Sotade is a Fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA). He consults and operates privately at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital and holds a public appointment at Toowoomba Base Hospital, delivering elective and trauma care across both sectors. Dr Sotade is dedicated to evidence-based, patient-centred care with a focus on collaborative decision-making and long-term functional outcomes. Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys time with his family, outdoor adventures, and contributes actively to medical education, mentorship, and leadership.
