Dr Dr Devang Desai

Associate Professor Devang Desai is a highly experienced, Australian-trained Urologist practising in Toowoomba with a focus on advanced and minimally invasive urological surgery. He provides comprehensive care for patients with urinary tract, prostate and kidney conditions, combining clinical expertise with clear, patient-centred communication. Dr Desai’s specialist training includes an internationally recognised fellowship in Genitourinary Reconstructive Urology approved by the American Urological Association and the Genitourinary Reconstructive Society, and additional training in robotic surgery techniques. Dr Desai has extensive experience in reconstructive urology, having performed hundreds of complex urethral reconstruction procedures. His practice integrates evidence-based medicine with personalised care, and he is actively involved in research, publication and the education of the next generation of clinicians. Dr Desai holds an Associate Professor position with University of Queensland, Griffith and University of Southern Queensland. He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers, 20 book chapters and created a Urology education app – UROAI for clinicians. He admits and operates at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital, providing access to advanced diagnostics, minimally invasive procedures and coordinated inpatient care for the Darling Downs community.
